My Auntie Ailsa was such a lovely, warm-hearted person. Whenever I think of her I think of her beautiful smile, it seemed she was always smiling. Over the past few years I was fortunate that we were able to organise meet-ups in the school holidays when she was in Leicester. I have some really happy memories of family time spent together, she clearly loved spending time with all of the children. I always enjoyed chatting to her and she also gave me some good advice about being a Mum. I have a plant in my garden that comes from a plant which Auntie Ailsa took from my Grandparents’ garden, every year when it blooms I send Auntie Ailsa a photo of it and tell her how much joy it is bringing me looking at it knowing where it came from. I feel a real sadness when I think that I will no longer be able to send that message to her each year, however I will still smile when I see those flowers come out each year and I know that Auntie Ailsa will be smiling along with me. It doesn’t seem fair how she suffered over the past few years but she always kept positive and kept on smiling, and I was truly inspired by that. Rest in peace my lovely Auntie Ailsa, thank you for being a wonderful Auntie. Good night God bless, with all my love xxx
